A Little About Us

The Big Sandy Car Club of Louisa, KY originated in 2008 when a group of friends got together and agreed that a car club was just what the community needed.

Founders Jim Pinson, Jim Thorpe, Fred McCoy, Ted Kelley, Jerry Belcher, Harold Johns, and Randy Thompson had their first organized meeting and began taking new members in May 2009. They've had several special events since then, including a "cruise-in" car show at Dee's restaurant in Louisa, KY and a road trip to Pigeon Forge, TN to attend a car show. The members get together monthly for ogranized meetings (or for a great excuse to hang out!). The meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month, and all dates and announcements will be posted in the events calendar and list above.

Throughout 2009, the club has grown by leaps and bounds by accepting new members and by scheduling bigger and better events for the upcoming summer.

Unfortunately, in March 2009, the club lost a very important member. Jim Thorpe played a major role in each of our lives. He will be sadly missed. His wife Brenda is still very active in the club.

I, Jim Pinson, President of Big Sandy Car Club, invite everyone to come see what we're all about. We have meetings on the third Monday of the month, unless specifed otherwise.
